If you’re flying and are not able to walk around in the aircraft or if you have circulation problems, it’s a good idea to purchase and wear a pair of compression socks to avoid swelling or blood clots. Inexpensive compression socks can be purchased in drug stores found in the hosiery aisle.

November 2010: This month we have another important news article to share, it’s about a CNN video called, Humiliating Pat Down. A cancer Survivor is humiliated by a pat down when his Urostomy bag seal is pulled off. This story illustrates how important it is for TSA to be trained on different medical conditions and to listen to travelers with disabilities and their concerns about pat down procedures. This month, on November 20th, Family Time Magazine is hosting their 2nd annual Autism & Special Needs Seminar on November 20, 2010 at Governors State University located at The Center for Performing Arts in University Park, IL.

September 2010: This month in the news, is about an amazing Frenchman, Philippe Croizone. Philippe was injured in  a work related accident leaving him without arms and legs. May 2010: AbilityTrip’s own, Darren Brehm, was interviewed by Jetiquette, The Sky Steward. April 2010: A Wheelchair Accessible Park for children, designed by Philanthropist, Gordon Hartman has been created in San Antonio. The park features a wheelchair accessible swing, an accessible sand box, and a variety of other activities for children of all abilities. You can read the article at the New York Times in full detail.

September 2009: AbilityTrip’s own, Darren Brehm, was featured in an article for his work on the 2016 Chicago Olympic Bid.
